JCC Harlem

Meg Sullivan

Meg Sullivan was the first Director of JCC Harlem: an initiative of the Marlene Meyerson JCC Manhattan developed in partnership with UJA-Federation of NY, which opened its doors in January 2017. She previously worked at JCC Manhattan (where she and her family have been members since the building opened on West 76th St in 2001) as the Program Director for Jewish Journeys, an innovative approach to supplemental Jewish education that largely serves families unaffiliated with traditional synagogues. Meg wears a second professional hat as the Director of Project Harmony Israel, an English immersion camp for Israeli and Palestinian youth that she founded in 2010 in partnership with the Hand in Hand Center for Jewish-Arab Education in Israel. Meg holds a Bachelors degree from the University of Chicago, where she wrote her undergraduate thesis on the emergence of restorative justice in deeply divided societies, highlighting Israel/Palestine and South Africa as case studies. Meg also holds a Master of Science in Negotiation and Conflict Resolution from Columbia University, where she completed a capstone focused on transboundary water management and allocation in the Jordan River Valley. Meg was born and raised in NYC, and currently lives in Harlem.
