Karyn Grossman Gershon

Karyn Grossman Gershon is the CEO of Project Kesher (PK) in the US and architect of the PK international network of feminist Jewish leaders. Since 1994, she has organized Jewish leadership training for over 6,000 women in Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, and Israel. Project Kesher’s programs build intergenerational Jewish life, advance gender equality, and promote public health and wellness. PK-trained leaders are at the forefront of the struggle to improve the rights, status, and quality of life for women and girls. PK invests in empowerment education, grassroots social activism, and pluralist Jewish innovation led by and for women and girls.

Karyn is a graduate of Cornell University and Northwestern University School of Law. She was a fellow at the Wexner Heritage Foundation and named a Jewish Chicagoan of the Year by The Chicago Jewish News. She has spoken on the role of women in the rebirth of Jewish life in Belarus, Russia, and Ukraine on public radio and at various universities including Northwestern, Columbia, Washington University, and Stanford. Project Kesher’s archives and Karyn’s body of work have been included in Brandeis University’s Archives and Special Collections on Jewish Feminism. Karyn is a founding board member of the New York Jewish Agenda. She lives in NYC with her partner Ed and has three grown children, Adam, Rachel, and Arielle.
